10 Video Games That Are Totally Different By The End

9. Immortality

Sam Barlow's incredible new interactive entertainment Immortality tasks the player with scrubbing through live-action footage of a missing actress, Marissa Marcel (Manon Gage), from three different movies that were never officially released.

At first it seems like the game will be a relatively grounded mystery thriller like Barlow's two previous titles Her Story and Telling Lies, yet eventually the player discovers that by scrubbing backwards through certain clips, they're able to view alternate hidden footage.

These clips typically feature a woman and/or man who speak and act extremely cryptically, though finding enough of these secret clips will make it apparent that the pair are in fact immortal beings whose existence predates humanity itself, and who use human hosts in order to effectively live forever.

Basically, there's far more to the game and its scope than Marissa's disappearance, and though much of the story is kept ambiguous even by its end, it's ultimately implied that the player becomes the new host for the female being, The One.

Who among us saw that coming when they sat down to play the game?
