10 Video Games That Deserve A Remake

This final entry on the list is perhaps the most unlikely to occur in the near future, considering the ongoing work that Square Enix is putting into Final Fantasy VII Remake, as well as Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3, amongst others. However, the debate is ongoing as to which entry in the Japanese institution is superior, making the ninth instalment more-or-less on par with the seventh in desires to be given a new lease of life.

The series’ swansong on PlayStation 1, Final Fantasy IX made a decision to move away from the futuristic stylings of the two preceding games, presenting a story steeped in a more medieval inspired world.

However, the gameplay was more refined than any entry that had come before, with an epic tale featuring some of the most memorable characters in FF history, including Garnet, Vivi and Zidane.

Given the huge advances Square Enix have made since the original release, all that would really be required would be a graphical and audio overhaul. Leave the story and especially the gameplay intact; they are near-perfect as they are.

Hopefully the developers have realised by now that turn-based RPG battles are still what fans want from Final Fantasy.
