Fast & Furious: Crossroads really never stood a chance, did it?

Developed by the rather prophetically monikered outfit Slightly Mad Studios, this action-racing game was revealed at The Game Awards 2019 by Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel, who lent their voices and likenesses to the game.

More to the point, Crossroads was announced as the "one more thing" at the very end of The Game Awards - a slot typically afforded to an attention-grabbing megaton game, not a naff-looking movie tie-in.

And even the most hardcore fans of the Fast and Furious franchise were left unmoved by the reveal, which touted hilariously dated visuals - especially the character models of the main cast - coupled with generic gameplay.

It only got worse when Crossroads came out and was near-universally panned by critics and players alike for basically every aspect of its production.  From the manner of its reveal onwards, it was a game that seemingly did everything it could to leave fans seething.

And as the icing on the cake, it ended up being delisted barely 18 months after release, likely because Bandai Namco didn't deem it financially worthwhile to renew the Fast and Furious license agreement.
