10 Video Games That Insult You For Losing

1. They're Breaking The Fourth Wall For This One - Styx: Shards Of Darkness

In Styx: Shards of Darkness, you play as the snarky goblin Styx, who loves to make fun of just about anything and anyone, including you, the player.

Yes, Styx is such a nasty little jerk that even the fourth wall can't spare you from his spiteful roasts.

When you die in Styx, its titular character pops up on the game screen to comment on your spectacular failure with a series of even more spectacular jabs directed at you.

Nothing is beyond Styx's repertoire—the goblin will insult you for your gaming skills (or lack thereof), your inability to comprehend the functions of a simple controller, and even give you the middle finger when he doesn't feel like getting too creative with your well-deserved comeuppance.

Styx's talent to trash-talk the player is so great that you won't even feel tempted to kill him again to spite him. If anything, you might try to die on purpose just to see how many more ways of crushing your self-esteem he can still come up with.

It's a bit masochistic, for sure, but then again, you don't really play Styx to enjoy a happy world filled with sunshine and rainbows.
