2. A Villainous Farewell - Batman: Arkham Games

Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series does a fantastic job of recreating the Dark Knight's most iconic villains. Each nemesis the world's greatest detective has to confront in the games is brimming with their own unique personality, even in something as mundane and simple as a game over screen.

The feature first introduced in Batman: Arkham Asylum allows Batman's gallery of villains to mock him (and the player) whenever he dies during a confrontation with them.

And, as you may imagine, they can be absolutely ruthless with it.

Each evildoer has their own way of making fun of poor old Bats, creating an entertaining spectacle while simultaneously putting a permanent stain on your ego.

From the Joker's gleefully roasting you to Bane snapping your lifeless body in two and Killer Croc making a tasty little snack out of it, every game-over screen is a new opportunity for the villains to rub your failure in your face.

The sheer quantity of these cutscenes is quite staggering, too. The bad guys probably had a lot to get off their chests after getting thwarted by the Dark Knight so many times.
