10 Video Games That Just Got Cancelled

3. Revenant Hill

Halo cancelled
Infinite Fall

In May 2023 Revenant Hill, a spiritual successor to 2017's hit indie Night in the Woods, was first announced, with a reveal trailer confirming that it'd be staying true to its predecessor's distinctive art style and tone.

Players would've taken control of Twigs, a cat who is forced to find a new home after failing to pay their rent, causing them to undercover a seedy underbelly amid the titular hills.

However, last November a heartbreaking update revealed that the project had been abruptly cancelled due to writer and artist Scott Benson being beset by serious health issues.

Benson confirmed that he had recently been diagnosed with severe heart failure, adding that it would prevent him from working in a regular capacity for the foreseeable future, in turn causing the game's cancellation and shuttering of new dev studio The Glory Society.

Benson, for his part, at least has some shrew perspective about the matter, remarking in his announcement post that "Life thankfully goes on."
