10 Video Games That Just Got DELAYED
You won't be seeing these games as soon as you thought. But for GTA fans, this is nothing new.

The world of video game development is vast and impenetrable. Who among us knows precisely what goes on in those studios across the globe, where they sit and tinker with complex models and code, all in the interest of giving us - the simple players - another hit of the good stuff, and making a tasty buck in the process.
Unfortunately, with this mystery comes disappointment, as the complexity of moving parts involved in bringing any video game to market - never mind a hotly anticipated, no-holds-barred thrill-ride with next-gen graphics and mechanics that make you feel like you've left your body - mean delays are inevitable.
Certain studios want more and more time to get the final details right, others have been slacking and thumbing their nose at impending deadlines, and some are just spooked by the scope and scale of what they're working on, fearing the notorious wrath of the gaming community should they make a single misstep. And this year is no different - a whole pile of delays have landed on our socials in the last couple of months, with excuses and mea culpas coming thick and plenty, the games we'd hoped for seeming ever father away.
Alas, here are the details of 10 video games that just got delayed, so at least you know where you stand.
10. The Occultist

German developer Daedalic Entertainment have brought us some pretty unusual games over the last 15+ years, including the Blackguards series, an adaptation of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, and the disastrous Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Thanks to years of cutbacks, and the abject failure of Gollum, they closed down their development division two years ago, but they’ve still got a few titles in the pipeline, including The Occultist, developed by DALOAR Studios.
First announced in August 2024, The Occultist was teed up for release this year, in which players become Alan Rebels as he journeys to the island of Godstone, seeking the truth behind his father’s disappearance. The trailer for the first-person horror promises fog-drenched streets, candle-lit gothic buildings and scare aplenty, as you navigate the island with a mystical pendulum, solving puzzles and taking on whatever ghouls and cultists.
Despite the latest trailer dropping in March, the game has been pushed back. Now slated for a 2026 release (@ mxdwn), across consoles and PC, it is disappointing news. However, given Daedalic’s track record with the whole Gollum debacle, a little more time to get things right pre-release can’t be that bad an idea.
