7. The Door (Garten Of Banban)

This is a bizarre entry as, unlike many examples on this list, it is not a reward or trick from clever developers who could predict their audience. Instead, it's a genuine mistake the devs knew you'd run into yet didn't bother to fix. Hooray?  

For the uninitiated, Garten of Banban is a generic and sloppily built mascot horror series that found surprising success in 2023. You can see the franchise's flaws clearly in the first game's climax, where you must escape the dreaded Opila bird, a mascot character that chases you down. 

The way to defeat this stalker enemy is to jump off a platform and press a small button to kill it. However, there's a giant doorway near said button, so most players run straight towards that. Unfortunately, the devs knew this would happen, so rather than thinking of a way to block it off in world, they stuck an obnoxious invisible wall there to trap you. 

They even admitted this during a dev vlog, unapologetically explaining that trying to escape through the logical path would lead to your death. Talk about unfair.
