10 Video Games That Launched In Unacceptable Condition
7. Battlefield 4
The Battlefield series is known for its popular online multiplayer. Although many of the titles in the series have had solid single-player campaigns, there are a lot of fans who buy the Battlefield games with the intention of sitting down to some multiplayer FPS action.
Battlefield 4 managed to miss both of those marks at release.
The single player campaign mode was dismissed by critics and players as being "short and shallow", which, while fair, isn't necessarily enough of a blow for Battlefield 4 to be dragged out back and put out of its misery.
Once you also take into account that Battlefield 4's multiplayer was, at release, filled with game-breaking bugs and technical issues, and it meant that it was essentially released unplayable. Despite DICE's promises to fix all of the issues before working on expansions or future projects, there were still many recurring issues yet to be addressed when the game's second expansion was released.
In the current market, it's understandable for an FPS with a large online playerbase to have an undeveloped single-player campaign, but Battlefield 4 was unable to impress players either online or off.
