10 Video Games That Let You Get Away With Being An Absolute Dick

1. Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain Ethan Death
Quantic Dream

Quantic Dream has effectively cornered the market on glossy, AAA interactive drama games, and one of the great hooks of their cinematic experiences is the near-total lack of a hard "Game Over" screen.

Games such as Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human feature a number of playable characters who, if the player puts enough feet wrong, will be perma-deathed, with the game simply shifting perspective back to one of the other surviving players.

As such, some players have taken it upon themselves to try and seek out the most depressing possible ending for all of the characters involved, effectively allowing them to act as a God-like "director" while they wilfully inflict the grimmest fates imaginable upon all the principal cast members.

No Quantic Dream game allows players to put characters through the wringer quite as brutally as Heavy Rain, the worst ending of which sees all three "good" characters dying, with protagonist Ethan ultimately hanging himself after losing his son Shaun and being framed as the Origami Killer.

As for the real Origami Killer, Scott Shelby? He gets away with it and simply disappears into the night. For anyone out there who loved burning ants with a magnifying glass as a kid, this game is clearly for you.
