10 Video Games That Lied Straight To Your Face

9. Prince Of Persia: Revelations And Rival Swords PSP Ports

Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Ubisoft

The Prince of Persia series had a pretty successful career in the early to mid-2000s. Both Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Two Thrones were met with positive praise and financial success just before Assassin’s Creed came out in 2007 and effectively killed the franchise.

Owing to the success of those two games, the PSP saw releases of Revelations and Rival Swords. However, if PSP players were expecting these to be new episodes in the series, they had another thing coming.

It turns out that Revelations was pretty much a port of Warrior Within; Rival Swords was also Two Thrones with a different name. Sure, there was some additional content, but the different titles made many believe the PSP games were entirely original instalments. In essence, the misleading monikers seemed to be an attempt to profit on unsuspecting gamers. Not cool, Ubisoft. Not cool.
