The Evil Within is a horror game about a group of detectives trying to escape from a nightmarish alternate reality created as part of a mysterious project.

The title has managed to release a few DLCs, one of which is Consequence, a retelling of the original story from the perspective of Juli Kidman, the one detective who, unlike the rest of her colleagues, was not trapped within the STEM project for the majority of the game.

Towards the end of the DLC, you reach the chamber where the other detectives are kept, connected to a giant brain responsible for creating the nightmare.

Now, you’re supposed to look past it and follow the crazed lunatic who led you into this room in the first place, but if you actually took the time to comprehend the overall story, you’d realize that destroying the jar would end the story prematurely.

The only problem is that the developers don’t appreciate you thinking too hard.

Shooting the brain will indeed cause the credits to roll, along with a congratulatory message, but after a few seconds it will end with a bright flash, as the game mocks you for trying.
