10 Video Games That Pissed Off Gamers Right Away

2. Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

The Last Of Us Part 2
Level-5

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is one of the most disappointing video game sequels of the last few years, failing to hold a candle to its gorgeously crafted and affecting predecessor.

But at least developers Level-5 had the good grace to let fans know what they were in for from the very start of the game. Following a fully-voiced opening cutscene, we're thrown into a quasi-tutorial level which confirms it to be a pale shade of its predecessor.

From the mediocre environments to the dull, overly easy combat, annoyingly earnest protagonist Evan, and worst of all the baffling lack of voiced dialogue - presumably to cut costs - Ni No Kuni II feels like a straight-to-video sequel in every sense.

Is it a terrible game? No, but it feels like a stupefying comedown from Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, which had so much love and care overflowing from every facet of its style and gameplay.

Here everything feels cheap and half-baked, and it sadly doesn't get any better later when the game introduces tedious RTS-style minigames and throws up brick walls which force you to play repetitive recruitment missions in order to progress the main story.
