8. Monster Hunter World - High-Level Creatures Roam Near Your Target

They say "looks can be deceiving".

Who's they? I dunno... me? I say that.

And in Monster Hunter World, that goes double - on your way to find the elusive target beast, you glimpse sight of a different creature in the distance - one that doesn't look too tough.

"We could probably ice that one too. Let's go whack that one, boss!", you chuckle, apparently now acting like a 1930s mobster. Yet you do not ice that one. That one ices you. Sometimes, quite literally.

The thing is, World has this tendency of occasionally letting absolute powerhouses just... strut around the place, often temptingly close to your target monster, and as I said earlier, they often don't look... especially intimidating.

Often, something far smaller can be just as potent as something much more evidently beefy (a remark my exes would almost certainly disagree with), so getting dragged into a fight with one can often be catastrophic.

I mean, who could blame you for picking a fight with a big walking gherkin when you've already easily beaten the fire-breathing ultra T-Rex?

Don't be tempted to pick a fight with something that isn't on your target list (particularly if it looks like Dunston Checks In with lightning erupting out of its head - monkeys in Monster Hunter are always bad news).

Stick to murdering and mutilating just one species of wildlife at a time, and everyone'll be happy.
