5. Grand Theft Auto V

Now, you don't need to be a gamer to know that Grand Theft Auto V is one of the best-selling video games of all time, but it might well shock you just how insanely well it has sold - and continues to sell, even.

As of this past February, GTA V has sold 140 million copies across all platforms since releasing in September 2013, making it not only the second best-selling video game ever - behind only Minecraft's 200 million - but also shifting more units than every other GTA game combined.

Its continued commercial success has baffled analysts, particularly as GTA V ended up selling a whopping 20 million copies in 2020 alone, the most it's sold in a single year since the original 2013 release.

Between this and the money-printing behemoth that is the game's multiplayer component Grand Theft Auto Online, it's easy to appreciate why Rockstar isn't too eager to get Grand Theft Auto VI out the door.

Plus, with a shiny new GTA V port set to release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later in the year, the game clearly hasn't run out of commercial steam just yet.
