8. Tekken 3
Bit of a left-turn going from an award-winning exploration into the question of humanity set in a world devoid of any to Tekken, but when you think of those games that knocked you for six in the best way possible, leaving you forever wanting more and rolling out the unlockables left, right and centre - it doesn't get better than this. One of the most mechanically perfect fighters in history, this is a generation-definer of a title - still easily playable to this day and with no followup releases coming anywhere close to the potent cocktail of arcade ladders to conquer, the fantastic brawler side-mode Tekken Force and even the brilliant volleyball-themed minigame Tekken Ball, T3 is the true King of Iron Fist Tournament through and through. Finally this year we're getting
a numbered entry into the series following a free-to-play model and the sequel to Tekken Tag Tournament, but as Namco saw fit to include part three as an unlockable within Tekken 5, it only served to remind everyone was a perfect mix of soundtracks, movesets, characters and story cutscenes this will always be.
