10 Video Games That Totally Ruined Gaming For Everyone

9. The Last Of Us

It's rare gaming can provide an emotional gut-punch you'll still be reeling from throughout the entire credit-roll, but Naughty Dog aren't just any old developer, their art department not just any old bunch of doodlers - and writers Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley not just a couple of scribes going through the motions. Instead, by taking a huge left turn from the high falutin' adventures of Nathan Drake and delving into a survival horror-style tale of one man and his forced companionship with a younger girl (set amongst the apocalypse no less), it elevated not only the game itself into other realms of appreciation, but the entire medium in general. A lofty claim? In theory, but when you consider all the awards it swept up; from multiple BAFTAs to specific performance awards for Ashley Williams' Ellie and Troy Baker's Joel respectively - alongside many scriptwriting accolades that even birthed the idea of a motion picture, it all combines into one of the most enjoyable and talked-about titles of the last decade, if not across all of gaming.
