10 Video Games That Use Your Imagination Against You
9. Clock Tower
In this point-and-click game, you play as Jennifer; an orphan who's adopted by a recluse called Barrows. When Jen explores Barrows' mansion, she learns she's being hunted by Scissorman; a deformed boy armed with garden shears.
Every time Scissorman's music plays, you know he's nearby. As soon as you hear the first beat, you look around, trying to figure out where he's coming from.
He tends to appear when you least expect it. When Jen is in a room full of mannequins and you can hear someone shuffling, you are waiting for the demonic child to jump out... but he doesn't. But when you are in another room moving around boxes? BAM! He leaps out, giving you the fright of your life.
When he corners you in the garage, players tend to climb a nearby ladder, believing Scissorman can't climb it while holding shears.
Sure enough, the creepy imp leaves the room while his theme song dies down, implying the threat is gone. Without warning, he teleports to your position, lunging at you with his blades. It's moments like this when you realise you can NEVER let your guard down, meaning you are constantly on edge.
