10 Video Games That Wanted You To Delete Them

6. Heavy Rain & Beyond: Two Souls

We all have a game we wish we could play again for the first time (looking at you, Breath of the Wild). In some developers' cases, they know that first-time magic can't be recreated and discourage replays altogether.

David Cage is known for his story-heavy video-games, most recently releasing Detroit: Become Human. His stories are usually affected by the player's choices and often are accompanied by twist-endings.

Cage has been rather outspoken with the lack of need to play his games after completing them. Heavy Rain's story involves the mystery of a brutal serial killer. Cage wanted players to live with the choices they made. After all, isn't the magic of solving a string of murders a little lost when you know who the murderer is?

In Beyond: Two Souls' case, a game that follows Elliot Page's supernaturally-gifted Jodie, Cage notes that players play "your version of the life of Jodie," and like in real life, you never know what you've missed:

"It's the same approach as for Heavy Rain: Play it once and then don't replay it. You can if you want, but I think the best way to experience the game is really to make choices and then never know what would have happened if you'd made a different choice."
