10 Video Games That Would Make Amazing TV Shows

3. God Of War

Assassin's creed Revelations
Sony Santa Monica

The God of War franchise by Sony Entertainment has been a huge success since the release of the first game in 2005. Since then, sequels and prequels have been released on many gaming platforms and recent news shows the series entering Norse mythology as it moves forward. A movie has been in the works for years but fans have given up hope on that, as there is no director and no actors on board. There’s only a script.

But the story in the original games was a strong, dramatic, and captivating one, taking the powerful protagonist Kratos through the world of Greek mythology and having him fight mythological creatures and the gods of Olympus in his search for revenge and power.

The story of the three main games alone would be enough to cover four or five television seasons. Kratos’ 'never give up' attitude and his ability to just kill anything that stands in his way make him a great main character, with flaws and downsides to work on through character development.

TV has explored Roman history, zombies, dragons, medieval times, and many other eras and ideas, so it’s only natural to take a look at a unique take on Greek mythology through a popular game franchise.

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
