10 Video Games That Would Save The Xbox One

2. Something Amazing From Crytek

This is more of a heartfelt plea than anything else. Crytek, we need you to pull yourself together, ok? Thanks for Ryse, we appreciated the effort you put in there, but we know you can do so much better. Yes, Crytek is a developer in a sorry state right now, fumbling around in the midst of a horrid "restructuring" phase, which we all know is a nice way of saying "things are falling apart, and we're trying desperately to plug the holes". But we know what these guys are capable of. The Crysis franchise has been consistently brilliant, even if it started to get a bit wrapped up in itself by the third installment, and the technical ability of this developer is unquestionable. Their proprietary CryEngine is a beast of a thing, and in Crytek's hands it can be a hugely powerful bit of tech. Right now Crytek seems to be dallying in a number of frankly non-essential product lines, silly free-2-play ventures and so on, probably just doing what they can to keep the lights on. But if Microsoft could swoop in like an eagle of salvation - an eagle made out of dollar bills - to take the financial pressure off but also allow Crytek complete autonomy and freedom to create something truly unique, we have faith that something amazing could come from it. Things didn't go as well as everyone had hoped with Ryse, and there seems to be a bit of uncomfortable air between the developer and the console holder as we wait to see who makes the next move, but right now the developer needs the money just as badly as Microsoft needs mind-blowing exclusives.
