10 Video Games To Celebrate Your Birthday With
8. Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima loves his hidden secrets and Easter eggs, from unorthodox boss-battle solutions in Metal Gears, to even appearing in Control as a Japanese scientist. Kojima especially loves his birthdays, and many have found a few hidden gems in his newest release Death Stranding.
Death Stranding opens up by asking for your birthday, as this will apparently affect the player's prowess with DOOMS abilities. There is no evidence to suggest that it changes anything gameplay-wise, but that doesn't make your birthday obsolete.
On the big day, players may notice that there is a piece of cake by the side of Sam's bed. If you're playing the game for the first time on your birthday, then that cake is completely full with a delightful happy birthday message. Look at that glazing! Sam will also get an email from all the Bridges' members.
The real surprise, however, comes when Sam leaves the base, triggering a BB flashback. Other cutscenes can play on specific character birthdays, but this one contains some mind-bending fourth-wall-breaking content where Mads Mikkelsen's character solely congratulates players on their special days.
