10 Video Games We Still Can't Believe Got Cancelled

2. Star Wars 1313

True Crime hong kong
LucasArts

Star Wars 1313 looked like it was going to be superb. LucasArts had planned for this to be a story-centric, third-person action game, based on the career of fan-favourite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. The title was originally announced at E3 2012, much to the glee of Star Wars fans everywhere.

This was yet another game on this list that made it far enough through development to tease us with trailers before its cancellation.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this potential game was the plan to give it a Mature rating. Given the plethora of family-friendly Star Wars products already in circulation at the time, a darker and more violent take on the source material was a hugely appealing prospect.

However, once Disney acquired the Star Wars franchise in 2013, production was frozen, with the final nail in the coffin being EA taking over the video game production helm from LucasArts. It was likely a mixture of Disney’s distaste for Mature ratings, alongside EA’s preference for continuously monetizable multi-player games that spelled the end for 1313.

That being said, with the recent successes of both Jedi: Fallen Order and The Mandalorian, maybe the project could be revisited… Please?
