10 Video Games Where Everyone Can Die

2. Mass Effect 2

When you have a game whose final mission is literally named The Suicide Mission, you had better have the stones to back that up.

Mass Effect 2 starts with Shepard being brought back to life after the bad guys shoot him into the cold vacuum of space, with the sole purpose of defeating the Reapers' latest cronies, The Collectors. This requires going into a section of the galaxy that no one has ever gone to before, with one ship and no backup, and take on - presumably - an entire race of highly effective killing machines.

Yeah, if you don't get your squad shaped up, get the right upgrades to your ship, and choose your tactics wisely when the time comes, you can get every member of one of the best RPG casts ever created killed. Some of them dying in the most horrifying ways imaginable.

Mass Effect 2 is one of the best RPGs ever made, due almost entirely to its willingness to hold the players' feet to the fire.
