10 Video Games You Didn't Know Were Hidden In Other Games

1. Project Gotham Racing 2 - Geometry Wars

It just goes to show, you never know what you'll stumble upon if you just venture out on foot. Breaking free of your restraints in Call Of Duty: Black Ops may have led you to discover text-based adventure Zork, but the universally adored Project Gotham Racing 2 held an even more delicious treasure - the adrenalin-fueled blast-em-up Geometry Wars. All it took was a bit of a wander around in the game's garage, and you were rewarded with one of the most loved shooters we've ever seen. Neon-tinged laser death awaited anyone who slipped a virtual coin in this awesome arcade cabinet. Unique among the rest of the titles on this list, this hidden masterpiece wasn't actually a known entity at the time. In fact, it was its heated reception within Project Gotham Racing 2 which prompted its creation as a fully realized game in its own right, one that went on to become one of the defining moments of the Xbox LIVE Arcade. That's bloody impressive, isn't it? The XBLA version spawned a sequel, and is now lined up for a third full release, only just revealed, which promises to be filled to bursting point with pure awesomeness. But that's the future. Looking back into the past, we'll always remember Project Gotham Racing 2 as the reason that this seminal arcade hit became a reality in the first place.
