10 Video Games You Didn’t Realise Gave Away Their Major Twists

In a twist so outrageous that it feels like Kojima purposefully went out of his way to troll his audience, Metal Gear Solid V ends with you finding out that all those hours you spent thinking you were playing as Snake, was actually a giant lie. Who you thought was Snake, was actually a medic whose face was changed to look like Snake through the use of plastic surgery.

Because Metal Gear.

It certainly is a shocking revelation, but not entirely un-telegraphed. In fact, many hints are dropped throughout the game implying that your identity isn€™t what it seems.

Huey doesn€™t seem to recognize you, while the AI Boss mammal pod flat out states that you are not Snake. Both Ishmael (the real Snake) and the imposter Snake share the same voice actor, the venerable Kiefer Sutherland, but the biggest clue lies in the environment. See, in the evenings and night, you must return to your ACC helicopter room and rotate the camera to look into the glass - the reflection will be the 'real' you; your custom character from the beginning, who is later revealed to be the medic. This can be done in any glass surface, provided you can angle the camera properly, but is most notable in the ACC.

At least Kojima had the courtesy to lead a trail of bread crumbs to this polarising twist, demonstrating that there is indeed some method to his madness.
