10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Were Cancelled In 2023
7. Dreams
Media Molecule's Dreams is one of the most fascinatingly inventive video games of the last decade - a mesmerising creation suite in which players could craft their own games and artistic experiences with a shockingly deep degree of granularity.
Dreams received rave reviews upon release and enjoyed an active, passionate player-base when it launched in early access in 2019, even if it ultimately failed to breakthrough into the mainstream.
Media Molecule nevertheless continued to support the game in the years that followed, until announcing this past April that Dreams' support would end in September as they get to work on a new game.
Though the creation servers remain open for the time being, project sizes have been limited for the sake of server stability, and a planned multiplayer mode has been cancelled as a result of the game being put out to pasture.
While many have questioned Media Molecule's release strategy for the game - namely, not making a PS5 version and releasing it as a pack-in title with the console - that they supported such a niche piece of work for almost five years is laudable all the same.
