10 Video Games You Rage Quit Before Playing

8. Fallout 76 (2018)

Fallout 76 is one of those cases where everything that could go wrong did go wrong in the worst possible way.

When it was originally announced in E3 2018 there was genuine excitement for what was supposed to be an MMO Fallout experience set within a world said to be four times bigger than Fallout 4 and brimming with even more detail. However, it didn’t take long for disaster to follow

Fallout 76 was so full of bugs upon launch that it was simply unplayable for many. But this was more than falling through map and NPCs with missing limbs. Fallout 76 was fundamentally broken, with many players using exploits to become invincible or crashing entire servers by launching multiple nukes simultaneously. And the problems just kept on coming.

Mishandling of refunds, controversy surrounding the quality of pre-order items, and predatory microtransactions only added more fuel to the fire of the ensuing fan backlash.

While Bethesda have since attempted to remedy some of these problems with expansions and updates, this wasn’t enough to erase the bad taste left by the catastrophic launch. Fallout 76 may have a dedicated community, but plenty will never be convinced to jump into the wasteland.
