10 Video Games You’ll Still Be Playing Long Into 2016
8. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Despite coming out before 2015 was even half-done, The Witcher 3 has kept people immersed in the stunning Continent thanks to one of the biggest video game worlds of all time, packed with deep, involving side-quests, stunning scenery and excellent storytelling. The world of the Witcher is one you never want to leave, because you know that just over the next hill or down some uncharted cave is another great new secret to uncover. CD Projekt RED were patient in rolling out the first big DLC packs for Witcher 3, with the first one, Hearts of Stone, coming out in November. The game had already been supplemented with a ton of free DLC in the form of items and side-quests by this point, but Hearts of Stone is a great-value pack that adds several new areas, an intriguing new quest, and a new romance for Geralt to pursue. But perhaps more importantly than the 15 hours or so of new content included in Hearts of Stone are the new magic abilities in the form of runewords and glyphwords, which players will experiment with for many months yet. As if that wasn't enough, CD Projekt RED recently announced the next big DLC for The Witcher 3, Blood and Wine. It's expected to add another 20 hours of gameplay in a new region called Toussaint, which by the looks of things in the above picture, is an altogether more lush and idyllic area than the rough-and-ready Continent. The trilogy may be over, but there's a lot of life left in Geralt yet. Buy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at GOG (DRM-free)
