10 Video Games You’ll Still Be Playing Long Into 2016

7. Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

Say what you will about Treyarch's two-a-penny shooter franchise. It's constantly being regurgitated, it rarely innovates, and it's absolutely milking the once-proud Call of Duty name for all its worth, but if you're not swayed by these high-and-mighty criticisms, then you'll get great bang for your buck in Black Ops III. Firstly, completionists out there will be itching to complete the relatively quick campaign across all difficulties, as well as playing through the whole thing with a co-op buddy (whether in the same room as you via split-screen or online). The game is absolutely brimming with multiplayer features, with 11 online game modes, all of which can be played alongside a split-screen chum. Another thing that Black Ops 3 deserves props for is keeping the local multiplayer spirit alive by allowing four people to play locally across all game modes, and use bots to make up the numbers. Then there's the legendary Zombies mode, which now has its own storyline set in a steampunk city - also best enjoyed with several players alongside you. Inevitably, there's a ton of pricey DLC on the way, though based on past experience these are likely to just include new maps and maybe a couple of new modes. The base BLOPS III game is one of the most complete FPS packages around, and if you're inclined towards its simple, fast-paced and twitchy gameplay, then it'll keep you hooked for the foreseeable future.
