The WWE 2K games are, as a whole, an embarrassment to the sports simulation genre. From a pure engineering perspective, they're scarcely fit for purpose, typically releasing infested with ridiculous bugs and glitches which, inevitably, quickly go viral.

And while few would profess these games to be genuinely good, there is a begrudged affection for them among a fanbase which loves to mock the games while also still playing them.

Though by any conventional metric the physics-destroying bugs are in no way a feature, they are frequently hilarious when they do abound, and the pure truth is that many fans would miss the glitches if 2K released an actually bug-tested WWE game in the future.

To be clear, these absolutely aren't games you should buy on launch for a full-whack price, but they're nevertheless a laugh to play with friends, where you can soak in the absurdity together and occasionally maybe play a match that isn't derailed by broken physics.

In sheer entertainment terms, the WWE 2K series has certainly succeeded, even if often by accidental virtue of how entertainingly ridiculous its wonky gameplay actually is.
