10 Ways Bioware Can Still Save Mass Effect

7. Show The First Contact War

Possibly the last vestigial plot point left untapped - yet one that was initially rumoured to be the setting for 'Mass Effect 4'. The First Contact War is literally what happened when the first band of humans made their way across the galaxy, activating a dormant Mass Relay and drawing the attention of the Turians.

The latter fire on the humans immediately thanks to their fear of repeating the Rachni Wars (where the Salarians accidentally opened a Mass Relay and let that destructive force through), resulting in a three month conflict that I guarantee has great potential to be extrapolated in-game.

Perhaps we'd have the First Contact War as the game's opening act, with all those furtive conversations about 'humanity's place in the galaxy' coming thereafter, leading into some common foe or obstacle to overcome for the finale?

Either way, many fans have wondered what it looked like when humans first discovered living, breathing aliens, and as we know it wasn't pretty, this makes for perfect narrative groundwork.
