9. Marketing Geared Towards Adult Gamers
Gone are the days of kids asking for Game Boys and Game Gears. Today kids want iPhones and iPads. And even if they do want a handheld, they probably holding a 3DS right now. Sony needs to market to the adults who grew up with Playstation. The ones basking in the nostalgia of playing Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, Twisted Metal; the loyalists. Even if you didnt own a Playstation or PS2 as a kid, you knew people who did, and you probably played with them. The grown-up mobile gamer gets breaks here or there, and probably shares a TV. The Vita is the perfect companion for the gamer who wants to use a gaming system, not a catch all tablet; no matter how impressive those machines are.
