10 Ways The Video Game Industry Takes Advantage Of Its Biggest Fans

2. The Version You Buy Day One Will Always Be The Worst

Something which is slowly becoming an unavoidable reality these days is the fact that AAA games are repeatedly released in broken, sometimes unplayable states. Honestly, the games industry€™s clear lack of quality control is astounding; either they don€™t playtest their games thoroughly enough, or they just don€™t give a damn about how their games are received. It feels like they€™re so concerned with making their money back that they€™d rather release something unfinished than nothing at all. We get it, the expectations of publishers can€™t always be realistically satisfied, but if something isn€™t working, don€™t release the thing onto the market. Nobody wants a game to be repeatedly delayed, but the constant string of unfinished releases is seriously damaging the larger perception of the industry. It shows just how little publishers actually care about satisfying their customers, especially when you considered the emphasis that companies like Ubisoft are placing on pre-orders, drumming up the sales of games that they know full-well are broken.
