6. Cross-Platform Play

Whether we're talking about the possibility of cross-platform play between home consoles, or actually having interaction between PC and consoles, Microsoft are easily winning this one.

For one thing, Microsoft are much more into the idea of cross-platform play than Sony are. They've come out on several occasions and expressed a much more positive opinion than it than Sony have, with some developers even claiming that Sony are the ones preventing it from happening.

This isn't a good look on Sony, and it definitely makes Microsoft look a little better by comparison. The fact that Sony are so reluctant to bridge the gap in some games just comes across as arrogance on their part.

Meanwhile, Microsoft are actively encouraging cross-platform play for games like Rocket League and Minecraft. Even more than that, Microsoft are essentially trying to merge their Xbox One install base with their PC base, allowing games to be played between both consoles.

Although this may have ruined the word 'exclusive' for Microsoft, it's also helped bridge the two consoles much closer together, which can't really be said for Nintendo or Sony.
