10 Ways Video Game Worlds Are Nothing Like Reality

9. Not Everyone Wants To Join The Army

Games like Age of Empires tend to give you a population limit so that you don't end up invading England with boats full of Chinese peasants. However it seems other strategy games such as the Total War games moon this idea and decide to let you recruit as many people as you want. Given enough turns, a small town with a population of a few thousand will have given you an army with a 10,000 units. Once again I'm not saying this is a bad idea, when I'm liberating Japan from the evil grasp of the Shogun I want to do it with cannons and rank after rank of line infantry not a few samurai who decide it over a coin toss.
