10 Weirdest Things People Have Done With Football Manager

8. Made Mods For Teams You've Never Heard Of

In the early days of Football Manager, back when the series was still called Championship Manager, there were an infamous amount of completely fictional players you could recruit to your team (including the elusive €œDoctor Fish€). Nowadays, Sega and Sports Interactive hold full licences from teams and players from across the world. Even if they can't use their faces or logos. But they still don't include every single football team on the planet in their games. Obviously not; that would be insane and require the development team to be quadrupled, so that they can comb each corner of the globe from the star teams to the Sunday pub leagues, making sure everybody is represented. Is that really what you want? Apparently some people answer €œyes€ to that, since there are fan-made mods in existence which allow you to play as, say, any team from the four divisions that play in Gibralta (yes, even Gibralta has four divisions). Whilst it's weird enough seeking out these esoteric teams, what might be even weirder is the effort people put into bringing them to FM.
