10 Weirdest Unlockable Video Game Characters You Have To Get RIGHT NOW

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a hack-and-slash spin-off of The Legend of Zelda, set during the first war with Calamity Ganon. The story is tied directly to Breath of the Wild, so it makes sense that many key members from that game serve as playable characters.

However, there are BOTW characters that nobody expected to be playable. By completing certain tasks, you can unlock the Macarena-playing tree, Hestu, the banana-loving Kohga, an adorable Guardian called Terrako, and Calamity Ganon himself. You can also play as the scrawny monk, Maz, who appearssk in BOTW's shrines.

With that said, probably the strangest character to unlock is The Great Fairies. Despite their incredible power, these four ladies were never seen as combatants in BOTW. Not only do they spend the whole time stuck inside giant flowers, their purpose is to reward Link with upgrades through hugs and kisses.

On top of that, it's hard to picture the divine quartet fighting side-by-side with Link and Zelda, considering they're approximately 70ft tall.

That's why it's weird to see these giantesses zipping around the land of Hyrule in flowers, defeating foes with hearts and smooches. They look innocent, but The Great Fairies are heavy-hitters, due to their vast reach and immense size.
