Between swarms of mutated wildlife, dangerous raider gangs, and deadly amounts of radiation, the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 4 is a grim place for its inhabitants to carve out an existence. Scattered amongst the serious plot thread that sees the protagonist search for their missing child though are some oddball quests.

The best of this strange bunch is The Silver Shroud, which sees players cosplay as the eponymous crime fighter from a pulpy radio series.

This quest begins after hearing a radio message from Silver Shroud enthusiast Kent Connolly in Good Neighbour. He wants to bring his favourite character to life to act as a beacon of hope for the locals and asks players to step into the role.

After stealing the hero’s signature costume, players will then be tasked with enacting swift justice on some criminals. It’s straightforward as quests go, however it’s the option to deliver dialogue as the ‘30s comic book character that turns it into a campy romp that’s simply tonnes of fun to play.

Alongside giving players a slick outfit that they’ll likely never take off again, The Silver Shroud gave players one of the most memorably unique quests within the Fallout series.
