1. Super Mario Bros
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ24UHbhFM8 This is wild, and perhaps the most classic example of speedrunning out there. The original Super Mario Bros is a true iconic moment in videogaming, a title which stands the test of time as one all levels of gamers can return to, getting those old familiar kicks out of leaping around, jumping on goombas, and using that trusty warp zone. The warp comes into play here, but it can hardly be called cheap - yes, it's a shortcut, but to still finish the game in less than 5 minutes takes a hell of a lot of skill. Will there ever be a faster speed run than this? Honourable Mention: Super Mario 64
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbkYT9a4lAY When Super Mario 64 came out, it really felt like the future of gaming was here. Nintendo did a tremendous job of porting their fat, plumbing mascot over onto a 3D world, and gamers lapped it up, spending countless hours in Princess Peach's castle. There have been many recorded speedruns of the game, which are exciting, but none better than this one, during which Siglemic - the gamer in question - collects all 120 stars in the game. This one deserved an honourable mention, at least, and is well worth a watch for fans of this timeless N64 title. Have you completed staggering speedruns of your own. If so, on which games?
