10 Worst Areas In Dark Souls
3. Farron Keep
Dark Souls 3 was obliged to contain the mandatory area that limits movement and damages the player. Their answer was in the Farron Keep area.
Combine slow walking, poison build-up, and basilisks with a confusing layout and the need to extinguish three lights in an area where everything sort of looks the same, and you have all the necessary components to frustrate and annoy the player.
There is loot here that is important to grab, so the player is forced to endure everything above as well as the Ghrus enemies, who do impressive damage, jump at you and exist almost entirely in groups.
For good measure, there is a second tree where the Giant can fire his arrows at you if you aren't on good terms with him. Dark Wraiths and the massive Elder Ghrus round off the painful list of problems waiting for you.
The Watchdogs of Farron Covenant is found here by the Old Wolf bonfire, as well as the Dreamchaser's Ashes, and the Abyss Walkers boss that blocks access into the Catacombs of Carthus. There is no avoiding this area in order to progress through the game, so the best advice is to equip poison resistant gear, grit your teeth, and go.
