10 Worst FPS Campaigns Of All Time
7. Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Of the many cookie-cutter modern military shooters that lined the seventh generation, few were as roundly disappointing as Medal of Honour: Warfighter. The once mighty series had been resurrected back in 2010, moving into modern combat in a bid to compete with its nemesis, Call of Duty.
This push continued in 2012 with Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which ended up putting the series in the ground. While its multiplayer was mostly unremarkable, the campaign was a real slog. As tier one operative Preacher, you took on various armed operations around the globe while struggling to maintain a family life back home.
Warfighter's campaign stood out for its mind-numbingly scripted scenarios. The game simply didn't trust the player to work their way outside of the regular objectives. It funnelled them through every level with no room for variation of experimentation.
Whether it was instant death for pushing too far forward or taking control away from the player, the game was unbelievably restrictive.
With its bland story and equally dull gameplay, Warfighter has very little going for it and the franchise came to an end shortly afterwards. From here, full attention was placed on DICE's Battlefield franchise instead, followed by Danger Close Studios being shut down by EA.
