10 Worst Gaming Failures Of All Time

1. The Phantom

A long-running industry joke, The Phantom is the most prophetic and infamous failure in gaming industry, if only because, true to name, it was vaporware that never actually hit the market. Unquestionably ahead of its time and certainly appealing, the Phantom would be able to play PC games while also offering a library of downloadable titles, and was pitched as a direct rival to Microsoft's Xbox. 2005 came and went, however, and the Phantom was nowhere to be seen. We can only theorise about how awesome (or not awesome) the console would have been, given that nobody outside of its production has actually played the damn thing. Nevertheless, given the potential for it to have been a game-changer, it's unquestionably the biggest gaming fail to date; at least the other platforms showed up and tried to entertain us, even if they failed pretty miserably too! Which gaming failures do you lament the most? Let us know in the comments below.
