10. Dungeon Keeper Returns (In Name Only)

For a certain type of gamer, the words €˜Dungeon Keeper€™ are enough to send them into a fit of nostalgia, with occasional outbursts of how PC gaming just €˜isn€™t the same€™ any more. When it was announced that the beloved series would be heading to mobile devices in 2014, the news was met with equal parts trepidation and excitement. The Dungeon Keeper formula, if adapted properly, could have made for an exquisite portable gaming experience. The fast, challenging task of defending your evil lair against oncoming heroes should have been a godsend for commuters everywhere. Dungeon Keeper Mobile kicked off 2014 in January in the worst way possible. Microtransactions completely butchered an otherwise fine game, constantly bullying players into parting with their cash at every opportunity. With paywalls at every corner, 2014€™s Dungeon Keeper represents €˜free-to-play€™ at its most toxic.
