10 Worst Middle-Stage Pokémon
7. Swadloon
Every Pokémon game comes with an early-game Bug type, usually a worm or a caterpillar, that evolves easily to introduce players to the concept of tri-stage evolution. In Gen 5, it was Sewaddle, who actually doesn't show up in the game until after the first gym.
At Level 20, Sewaddle turns into Swadloon, who just looks... upset. It also looks a bit familiar, as in it looks like someone just copied and pasted a Shroomish's face onto a new body.
As if being unimaginative and making the player not want to use it wasn't enough, this thing will not evolve unless you level it up with high friendship. So you have to make Swadloon, who looks like it hates everything, like you somehow. Who the heck wants to go through that sort of trouble?
Well, apparently, me, because I used one in my first run of Pokémon White. Leavanny looked cool, and I have a soft spot for physical attackers. Leavanny wasn't bad, albeit awful defensively, but getting it to evolve into one was a burden, to say the least.
