10 Worst Non-Signature Abilities In Pokémon Games

2. Honey Gather

Prior to Generation V, Honey Gather was the signature ability of Combee, but the folks at Game Freak eventually decided to give it to Teddiursa as a hidden ability and eventually to the Cutiefly line as a primary ability. Honey Gather does one thing and one thing only - it enables a Pokémon to collect Honey after a battle.

...okay?

Honey is a pretty pointless item in-game. All it does is attract wild Pokémon, but anyone can do this an unlimited amount of times using the move Sweet Scent if they really wanted to. Plus, Honey is a cruel reminder of one of the most tedious and frustrating parts of the Generation IV games - the Honey trees.

Offering access to a measly nine Pokémon in total, Honey trees were the only way for trainers to encounter Combee, Heracross, Aipom, and most annoyingly, Munchlax, who would only appear 1% of the time in a randomly-selected set of four trees in the Sinnoh region. So, when using a Pokémon with Honey Gather, you're not only getting no benefits in battle, but you're also taking yourself right back to that impatient rage you once felt while hunting for Munchlax for months on end.

TL;DR - f**k Honey trees.
