10 Worst Possible Alternative Video Game Endings

8. Infamous: Second Son - Evil Karma

Luigi S Mansion Bad Ending
Sony

In the world of Infamous: Second Son, you control Delsin Rowe, a teenage conduit with the ability to absorb the elemental powers of other conduits he comes across. Wielding these supernatural abilities brings with it the choice of whether to use them for good or for evil, and throughout the game we are faced with several choices for how we would like Delsin’s story to play out.

The interesting thing for a game like this is that being bad feels so good. The more evil karma you earn for Delsin through murder and destruction, the more his elemental powers evolve and become more visually impressive. His attacks will have more range and area of effect, and turn an awesome shade of red.

Giving in to bad karma all through the game results in an absolutely heartbreaking ending to the game. After defeating Brooke Augustine and avenging the death of his brother Reggie, Delsin and his pals take over Seattle. His plan to absorb Augustine’s rock shards abilities now complete, Delsin returns home to save his tribe from her magic.

However, they have been watching all his destruction and madness on TV, and now want nothing to do with him. Tribe elder, and Delsin’s surrogate mother, Betty, confronts him, condemning him for his actions and disowning him entirely. Delsin, in a burst of emotional rage, explodes and presumably destroys the entire village, killing his entire tribe and family.

One heck of an overreaction.
