10 Worst Power-Ups In Gaming History
4. Carpenter - Call Of Duty: Zombies
Call of Duty’s zombies, developed by Treyarch, is one of the most unique modes in gaming history. It’s rumoured that the first zombies map was just designed for fun by a developer and had no direct intention of being in the game.
Ten years later and we’ve got
zombies in more than four games, with so many maps, iterations, weapons and of course,
power-ups. Real, old school power-ups, mind you. They float, they spin and they’re shiny. Max ammo, instant
kill, the nuke and fire sale, I’m sure you remember them fondly. There was one
that most of us weren’t a fan of, though, carpenter.
Carpenter might have been useful on the older, smaller maps, particularly in earlier rounds as it allowed you to get more knifing done. However, on the bigger maps where you just want to be shooting zombies, not running around waiting, it’s more of a nuisance. Picture it, you’re in the middle of a round, killing away, you pick up a hammer and now you just have to wait while the zombies re-break the barriers.
As a further note, if a player wanted to board those windows up themselves, gaining extra points, they're now out of a trade.
