Godzilla has yet to make the successful transition to video games, and any hope of attaining that goal was yet again crushed with the release of Godzilla on PS4. This game is technically a port of the PS3 version, which is immediately apparent when you look at it. At best, Godzilla looks like an early-era PS3 game; but at worst, it looks like it belongs on the PS2, circa 2006. This games graphical deficiencies could have been tolerable if it was a smashing good time, but unfortunately Godzilla is both boring and repetitive. You spend the majority of your time walking at an incredibly slow pace as you attempt to destroy everything within a small boxed-in area. Many of Godzilla's most famous adversaries do pop up to face you, which should be awesome, but the combat is hindered by clunky and unresponsive controls. And thats all there is to it. There is no variety, the same city layouts are reused constantly, and it is all supported by a story so flimsy that barebones doesnt adequately describe it. It is so blaringly obvious that Godzilla was made as a budget title, which makes the fact that they charged full price an even greater crime. Truly only the most hardcore of Godzilla fans can tolerate this game.
