Considering Duke Nukem Forever took twice as long to develop as Breath of the Wild, gamers safely assumed this long, long, long-awaited sequel couldn’t live up to expectations. Since the gaming community was ready to accept disappointment, you’d think that would take the sting out when they finally got their hands on Duke Nukem Forever.

But against all odds, this heavily delayed shooter was worse than anyone could've imagined. Despite a 14-year production, Duke Nukem Forever doesn't feel like a single game. Because the gameplay and level design varies so drastically, it's as if the developers scrapped the project five or six times, before ultimately deciding to mesh all their work together into a mismatched mess.

What's worse is that there isn't a single quality that justifies the lengthy production. Ironically, the game feels rushed due to the uninspired graphics, janky frame-rate, basic levels, and unresponsive controls. These flaws feel more apparent, since Duke Nukem Forever can't go five minutes without putting down vastly superior titles like Halo.

This sequel has so little to offer, you wonder why the team dedicated over a decade of their life to see the project to the bitter and underwhelming end.
